i found empyrean

Beatrice brought me to Paradiso, more precisely, to Empyrean.

That’s exactly where I felt, in a small village called Katuora, near Daret Ezza, northwest Syria.

Well, it wasn’t exactly Beatrice, it was a minibus I took from Aleppo to the countryside.

Arriving there I saw Empyrean: no words can describe this field with olive trees and flowers blossoming as red tiny spots.

Then I went to a local’s place, Mr. Abo Kadur: no furniture, just rugs on the floor, and 9 children!!

He asked me why my mother had ONLY 3 children. He couldn’t understand that…

And, of course, they offered excellent homemade food: superb olives, great cheese, zatar, scrumbled eggs, delicious olive oil freshly pressed on the village, labneh, pita bread, and of course tea.
